Sigourney Weaver is awesome and Elizabeth Mitchell isn't as annoying in real life as she is as Juliet (sorry). The girl from Dollhouse was a little silly with her "I get empowerment from my boobs" talking (it was a little ironic).

Next up was USA Network's Burn Notice. The male and female lead stars didn't even show up! Whatever. I don't watch this show but I must say that the older guy in the show is pretty entertaining.

And then what we really came for - the Psych panel! They were awesome and hilarious. Mohinder is coming up as a guest star in the next episode.

I believe that this was the first time that the USA Network showed up for Comic-Con so they brought a LOT of give aways with them.

I think that was it for Thursday...we were exhausted - plus we had to get up early for...Sherlock Holmes tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friday -

Back in Hall H for:
Where The Wild Things Are - this looks really cute.

The Book of Eli - I don't know too much about the comic book but the movie looks interesting enough. It stars Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman. Note: Gary let out that they were already starting work on the next Batman movie.

A Nightmare on Elm Street - I was just thinking "you what we need more of? Elm Street movies" - not.

The Box - looks good but I will wait for some reviews before I go see it.

Jonah Hex - started off stupid, enter Megan Fox...got a whole lot stupider.

and what everyone in Hall H actually came to see - Sherlock Holmes!!!!!!!!
Okay first of all Robert Downey Jr. ran on stage as Megan "I'm so tired of everyone calling me hot but I am going to stand here with my tonuge hanging out taking pictures" was still on stage and gave her the most hilarious look. He's hot AND can get annoying people to go away. AWESOME.

The movie clip was exciting. I think my sister almost pee'd herself because she is in love with Sherlock Holmes and didn't want the movie to be crappy.

I can tell you right now without a doubt that this movie will be great, 5-star great. Me and my sister will be the first ones in line.

Next was the Disney 3D Animation Panel:
Toy Story, Toy Story 2 & Toy Story 3 - This is Disney and Toy Story. I don't really think I have to say anything else about it.

Beauty And The Beast - This is being re-released in 3D for the anniversary.

The Princess and the Frog - This movie looks cute...I will have to take the kids to see it. This prince turns into a frog but talks this girl into kissing him (thinking that he would then turn back into a prince) but instead she turns into a frog to!

The rest of the day was on the floor TRYING to get free stuff. I told my family that I would rather stab myself in the eye with a red hot poker than EVER go into the exhibit hall again. It is nauseating to me. It is crowded, hot and you have irritating know-nothing security yelling at you every 3 seconds. No. Thank. You.

Last of the day we went to the Jericho panel. Is was to show some of the storylines from the new comic book series coming out but most of us were just there to ask about a Jericho movie. We got the same company line we always get - “We’re still working on it.” Sigh…

Tomorrow Lost and Ironman!

Saturday:

This was Hall H camp out day since Lost was up first, then a whole bunch of crap no one wanted to see, and then Ironman 2.

Lost was hilarious and funny. They had Hurley asking questions at the microphone in the audience and then Ben came out to mock him. It was a whole elaborate, scripted panel just to get out of actually telling us anything about next season - LOL! Oh and then this knocked my socks off. At the end Ben was reading what was supposed to be the ending script to Lost but it ended up being a “script” from Heroes about something bad happening at a circus tent. We all laughed and thought it was silly but then I got home and watched the Heroes season promo on YouTube and part of it is about being at a carnival!!!!!! I can’t figure out if that was just a big coincidence or if Lost somehow really got a hold of part of a Heroes script.

Next came the waiting for Ironman 2...I mean watching all the great clips from other movies (yawn).

Solomon Cane - I really wasn’t impressed.

Extract - doesn’t look that funny.

Zombieland - okay, this just ticked me off. I thought that maybe, just maybe someone somewhere is Hollywood would do something original and have this be a movie about zombies living in their own town, minding their own business and then Humans coming around and harassing them. But nooooo it has to be the same old movie they have made 400 hundred times before.

2012 - “Never before has a date in history been so significant to so many cultures, so many religions, scientists, and governments.” Really? Because I never heard of the year 2012 having any significant at all. Well you learn something (useless) everyday I suppose.

Ironman 2 - finally! This time Robert was in a gorgeous Tony Stark business suit. Jon tried to give us a behind the scenes clip but Robert called him out on it and we saw a real clip. Tony being hot and cute as ever, Pepper giving him that “cut it out” look, and Terrance Howard looking delicious, oh wait, that’s right, we have Don Cheadle. WTF?!?!?! Anyhow, I guess I will just have to focus on Tony (which isn’t that hard for me).

Whew! Saturday was a long day. Sundays are so much more relaxed.

Sunday -

Not that exciting - standing in the ever expanding fulfillment line to get all the t-shirts you can hustle, going down on the floor to see if there are any giveaways, and going to the Comic-Con talk back.

That’s it! See you at Wonder-Con!

Comic-Con 2009 (Thursday Morning)

http://www.shipperdom.net/2/post/2009/07/comic-con-2009-thursday-morning.html

http://www.shipperdom.net/2/post/2009/07/comic-con-2009-thursday-morning.html#comments

Uncategorized

Well I got up later than everyone else since I live downtown and set off to the Convention Center at around 9:45. I'm just going to come right out and say it...borrrrrrring.

Next up was Tim Burton for Alice in Wonderland. This movie looks AWESOME!!!!!

And then guess what happened...that's right, Johnny Depp showed up! He didn't say too much and he only stayed on the stage for a couple of minutes but still...Johnny Depp.

We didn't stay for Tron because we wanted to get into Ballroom 20 before it filled up...and we wanted to get away from the Twilight girls - LOL.

We came into Ballroom 20 in the middle of the Quantum Quest. Just got back home. It was alright. It had Six from BSG in it and someone from Watchman who is a good actor. It had too many contrived plot twists for my taste.

Next show was V, about vistors from another planet. Now I like alien shows and all and this one looks pretty good but they could be a little more original. We all know that when aliens show up being all nice and kind that they are really up to something sinister.

My family didn't let me stay to watch "Vampire Diaries" so we headed over to pre-register for next year. Last year pre-registering saved you $10 so your 4-day pass ended up being $65. Well maybe you should sit down because this year pre-registration is $100!!!!!!

And last but not least the "Twilight Girls" (yuck) are already outside waiting in line for Hall H tomorrow.

Comic-Con iReporting

http://www.shipperdom.net/2/post/2009/07/comic-con-ireporting.html

http://www.shipperdom.net/2/post/2009/07/comic-con-ireporting.html#comments

Uncategorized

I am going to Comic-Con in a couple of weeks and I just ordered a new mini netbook with a 6-cell battery!
